Me and One Boy

It's just Austin and me this weekend....Randy left Thursday night on a plane to Orlando to play in a softball tournament. Lucky Guy!!! I talked to him a few minutes ago, the weather is sunny and 65 while we have gray skies and 28 in Nashville....I wanted to go for a run in the park, but it didn't warm up enough....I am getting runner blues - this weather needs to change..I could go run on the treadmill at the gym, but I really dislike that, so feel sorry for me - please...I just want to be outside...Tomorrow is looking better - supposed to be sunny and in the upper 50's so we shall see...

This past week just flew by. Austin had three basketball games, they won 2 and lost 1. It was tough loss too, only by 3....The above picture is of Austin and the team in Atlanta over the Christmas Holiday. I will take more pictures of him playing this week....Austin has spent most of today upstairs laying around and watching TV. Which I think he needed...

Just wanted to send a "Congratulations" out to my little sister. She has started back to college this week, working towards her bachelor's degree!!! What an accomplishment, she will be the first one in our immediate family to accomplish this!!! Keep her in your prayers as she works a full time job, has classes two days a week, is a wife and mother who is going to be very busy... love you sis!!

Missing everyone!! Please email/call/text...

College Time in Tennessee

Austin has informed us that he has picked 5 colleges he would like to visit and possibly attend. MTSU (Middle Tn. State University, Murfreesboro, TN), Samford (Alabama), Xavier (Cinci, Oh), UT Knoxville, and Arizona State (Arizona)...WOW is all we could say...Please pray that GOD leads Austin to where he wants him to be...and please pray for Randy and me as we go through this process of "letting" our child go!! I have to admit this has been hard for me to swallow!!! My baby is going to COLLEGE!!!

Just some thoughts

This past week I have had many conversations with different teen boys and girls in my life, including my son. Since I have started working at the school where Austin attends, I have found myself in numerous situations where these children are wanting to me to listen more than talk, which has been hard for me, because I LOVE to talk!! (hehehe).....

I found the following quote on another person's blog, and I found it very profound for me and I hope that if you are reading this it will help you as much as it did me. I am going to try, with GOD's help, to begin to see these children in a "different" light...All they are trying to do is find themselves, and asking us to help them walk in this journey. Everyday my child amazes me with his maturity and growth into a young man that I know GOD has made him to be.

“When things get rough as children grow up and want independence, don’t go head to head with them. You will always loose to them. Instead, walk with them, learn who they are, and respond accordingly. You will have less pain and will experience much more joy in the process”.

Blessings!!!!
